Our motto is “taste first”. The bread from Artisan Bakery Gateau is baked by hand from clean ingredients in Helsinki’s Sörnäinen district. The secret of good bread starts with the dough. The breads made from a fermenting dough are proved for a long time, and then baked in a furnace. The result is not only beautiful, but also incredibly delicious. The wonderful flavours of Gateau’s cakes and pastries are based on high-quality ingredients, such as Finnish flour and real Finnish butter and cream.

Gateau’s roots can be found in the French and Nordic baking traditions. The bakery, which was founded in Sweden in 1937, is known for its handmade products, its clean ingredients, its high quality and its freshness. These things guarantee excellent flavours and a little bit of daily luxury, whether you choose a bread or a cake.
